Speak your truth even if your voice shakes. –Audrey Lorde
The Leader answers a higher calling to make a difference in any and all endeavors they undertake, whether in philanthropy, volunteerism, business, or homemaking. They are focused and direct – always seeing the bigger picture – can pull people together to inspire and create, and can even be the catalyst for entire movements. Organized and clear, Leaders step up to do what must be done. They’re willing to take a hit for the team if it serves the greater good, and are not driven by a need for acclaim or recognition.
Shadow Side
When the Leader begins to believe his or her own hype, they can become controlling and idealistic, or rigidly dogmatic. Narcissism and ego take over and they need to be surrounded by admirers and yes people to substitute for their lost sense of purpose; or they may project their purpose onto someone else in denial of their leadership skills. They will compromise themselves or even sell others out to get some glittering goal, and then wonder why they’re not satisfied.
Potential Challenge Chakras
Look for an excessive, overblown 3rd chakra, and sometimes the 6th or even 7th in spiritual circles (the guru who demands finery and obeyance). The Leader often has a lot of karma and activity in the 8th and 9th, and blocks or even marks in the 11th. There can be a ‘wild card’ aspect underlying the Leader’s motivation to lead: unseen karmic patterns, and/or potential compensation for wounds or lessons.
TIPS: Yours is the core chakra that deals with lessons in truth-telling versus lying, so you may find that you are held to a higher standard for honesty and truth. Find ways to support and honor integrity; raise your voice in truth, whatever that means for you. Find clear, consistent ways to express yourself—simply for you, not always to rouse others to the greater cause. And you may find it’s just as important to learn when to hold your tongue. Any karmic imbalances in other chakras can greatly affect your core chakra, so work on untangling those knots!
Self Care: Mind your voice, whether literally or figuratively. Sing, chant, join Toastmasters. Become a storyteller. Practice self-expression and support through your 2nd chakra and strive to keep the energetic channel within clear with my Full Spectrum meditation or the Path of Purpose.
